50 years ago the American Rat Terrier was the dog of farms and barns. Now, people are finding the Rat Terrier to be the perfect dog for the neighborhood. Rat and American Hairless Terriers are small in size, very hardy, loving, loyal, intelligent dogs that fit nicely into the standard lot size of today's suburban yards. They are great companions, willing to go on that extra long hike in the woods or content to sit at home with their people and watch TV. These sturdy little dogs are great when raised with children - in fact, they may quickly become a child's best friend. They are highly trainable and love to please. The short hair and excellent health make them trouble free... no expensive grooming, that's for sure.

About the Kleutsch's: We have been breeding Rats exclusively for 19 years. Our first litter was in July of 1986. Our passion is the Rat Terrier family of dogs. We always plan our litters with the breed standard in mind. Julia is actively involved with Rat Terrier breed clubs and is very active in presenting Poochville Rats at many West Coast, National Events and also as a UKC Judge. We can give you references from others in the Rat World, persons who own Poochville Puppies and from our vet in regards to the general health of our Pooches. We are very familiar with all aspects of shipping dogs. We can proudly say that we have shipped dogs to Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and all of North America. All of our litters are registered with the United Kennel Club. Our pups come "socialized" - our two boys love to lay in the yard and have the pups and dogs climb all over them. It also needs to be mentioned that both Julia and John are guilty of this, too - in a big way! Playing with a Rat Terrier is a great way to get rid of stress from work. We don't kennel our "kids" - they all sleep in the house with us. Most even sleep in bed with us. We dock tails to standard unless pre-arrangements are made. All pups come with a puppy contract and a health guarantee.
In July of 2005 we moved onto 10 acres outside of Olympia Wa. We are in love with our land! Our dogs love all the variety of landscape. Ponds, medows, thikets, woodlot and county lanes to explore and hunt in. John and Julia Love the new county lifestyle!
